Quite a few of the At Water's Edge programs have revolved around current news, social issues, and the effect of politics on our collective well-being. This challenge became a distillation of those programs. The challenge was simply to write a protest track of some kind, and there were no other limitations.

The Arts are always where change happens…

There is so much good in the world… and so much darkness. These days it seems like the darkness is winning. So what can we as artists do? What we always do — make statements with our art.

This episode of At Water’s Edge was challenging, and not just because these were challenge tracks — the role of art is to shine a light on ourselves. And this music is no exception.
