December of 2017 was pretty fruitful for me on the live ambient front. Particularly during the first week or so of the month, when I performed two separate ambient train wrecks on my program, Blue Water Drift Dive. I thought these turned out well enough that they might be worth saving for people who missed the program.
The first one, called "Irregular Satellites", is a quirky little wreck that evolves from ambience to a bouncy little Berlin inspired sequence, and on to a more abstract and atonal finish. The slide guitar again makes an appearance in this one, this time with a custom tuning that made things particularly interesting.
The second piece, called "Journey Through Darkness", is a straight-up dark ambient long player. Where many of my wrecks lately have been focused on analog synth sounds and textures, this wreck wholeheartedly embraced sampling. A nice long, deep, thoughtful trip through the hinterlands of darkness.
These tracks are exactly as heard on my program. There are no edits other than mastering of the recordings. I hope you enjoy!
